Oil Futures Little Changed As Baker Hughes Reports 8th Weekly Rise In U.S. Oil-rig Count

Oil futures traded little changed Friday after data from Baker Hughes revealed that the number of active U.S. rigs drilling for oil climbed by 11 to 443 rigs this week. That marks an eighth-straight weekly rise for the oil-rig count. The total active U.S. rig count, which includes oil and natural-gas rigs, climbed by 14 to 553, Baker Hughes said. December crude rose 2 cents to $50.65 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange, trading close to the same level it was at before the rig data.
