U.S. Stocks Open Lower Following China Trade Data

U.S. stocks opened lower on Thursday, following data out of China that showed the country's exports fell much more than expected in September, which raised new concerns about the rate of growth in the world's second-largest economy. The Dow Jones Industrial Average [S: DJIA] fell 0.5%, or 91 points, to 18,048. The S&P 500 [S: SPX] fell 0.6%, or 12 points, to 2,217, with financials the biggest declining sector of the day. The Nasdaq Composite Index [S: COMP] fell 0.8%, or 40 points, to 5,200.
