Sears reports 2Q loss

Sears Holdings Corp. (SHLD) on Thursday reported a fiscal second-quarter loss of $395 million, after reporting a profit in the same period a year earlier.

The Hoffman Estates, Illinois-based company said it had a loss of $3.70 per share. Losses, adjusted for non-recurring costs, came to $2.03 per share.

The department store operator posted revenue of $5.66 billion in the period.

Sears shares have decreased 29 percent since the beginning of the year. The stock has fallen 33 percent in the last 12 months.
