Starbucks Expanding Pennsylvania Fulfillment Center, Creating 300 Jobs

Starbucks Corp. said Thursday that it will expand its York, Pa. distribution center, adding 1.2 million square feet of space. The expanded facility will create 300 full-time jobs over the next three to five years. The York distribution center, which will increase capacity by 35%, will be fully operational in September, and will become the largest Starbucks distribution center in the world. It will supply 3,000 stores across the Northeast, parts of Canada and Europe. Starbucks shares are up 0.2% in premarket trading, but down 7.4% for the year so far. The S&P 500 Index is up 6.4% for the year to date.
