Starbucks Launches Spotify Service For Mobile App Customers

Starbucks Corp. said it will give its mobile app customers access to the Spotify music streaming service starting Tuesday. This allows its 10 million loyalty members, U.S. Spotify users and customers at its 7,500 U.S. stores to listen to the music playing overhead in Starbucks cafes anywhere. Spotify users will also be able to access Starbucks playlists and the most popular songs from the coffee company over the past 20 years. Starbucks will launch a weekly feature in its app in January highlighting new artists and sharing curated playlists. Starbucks shares are up 0.9% in premarket trading and up 44% for the past 12 months. The S&P 500 is down 6.9% for the past year.
