Continental recalls 3,800 tires due to risk of tread separation, no accidents reported

Tire maker Continental on Wednesday recalled 3,800 car tires due to risk of tread separation.

No accidents or injuries have been reported. The tires are sold as replacements only.

The tires involved are Continental ContiProContact P205/65 R15 95T XL made in February 2015. They carry the Department of Transportation code VY UR 471B 0615.

The company, part of Hanover, Germany-based Continental AG, said it is talking with tire distributors and dealers to identify people who bought the tires and owners and plans to contact them.
