Payroll provider ADP reports that more than 20,000 private sector jobs were added in Florida

A new employment survey shows that Florida continues to add jobs.

Payroll provider ADP reported Wednesday that the state added 20,050 private sector jobs during the month of October. ADP's survey is separate from the one that is conducted by government agencies.

The survey showed that the growth was largely in service jobs. ADP's survey showed that Florida trailed both California and Texas in the number of private sector jobs created but that Florida's total was above other large states.

The results could bode well for another drop in the state's unemployment rate. State officials will announce the new rate next week.

The state's September unemployment rate was 6.1 percent. That's above the national rate of 5.8 percent.
