AT&T announces plans for more than 160 jobs in North Carolina as part of expanding service

AT&T Inc. says it is hiring worker for more than 160 jobs in North Carolina as part of its effort to enhance and expand its wireless and wireline networks.

A statement from the telecommunications company says of the jobs, more than 130 of them will be new. Positions include technician, retail and call center openings.

From January through August, AT&T hired nearly 570 people in North Carolina.

AT&T employs more than 6,700 people across the state.
