Campbell posts 4Q revenue of $1.85 billion, result misses forecasts

Campbell Soup Co. (CPB) on Monday reported net income of $137 million in its fiscal fourth quarter.

On a per-share basis, the Camden, New Jersey-based company said it had net income of 43 cents. Earnings, adjusted for restructuring costs and non-recurring costs, came to 49 cents per share.

The maker of canned soup, Pepperidge Farm cookies and V8 juice posted revenue of $1.85 billion in the period, falling short of Street forecasts. Analysts expected $1.87 billion, according to Zacks.

Campbell expects full-year earnings in the range of $2.45 to $2.50 per share.

Campbell shares have climbed almost 3 percent since the beginning of the year, while the Standard & Poor's 500 index has climbed roughly 9 percent. The stock has risen 6 percent in the last 12 months.
