Total Petrochemicals & Refining USA said it started up a sulfur unit at its refinery in Port Arthur, Texas.

In a statement to the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, the refinery said the startup also led to emissions of sulfur dioxide that began Wednesday and lasted about four hours. It said the sulfur unit was put back into operation.
The 225,000-barrel-a-day refinery is located east of Houston.
