Google Express Now Covers 90 Percent of US

Online shopping is one of the great inventions of the 21st century. And thanks to Google Express, even more people can now fill their fridge or wardrobe without leaving the couch.

Google is expanding its home delivery service to a dozen new states, covering some 90 percent of the US. It's available to an additional 70 million customers in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Kentucky, Montana, North Carolina, Oregon, South Carolina, Tennessee, Utah, and Washington.

Sign up to browse the digital shelves of Costco, Target, Staples, Toys R Us, Walgreens, Barnes & Noble, Payless, Petsmart, and other popular retailers. Or search by category: grocery, health and beauty, electronics, apparel, sports and fitness, etc.

Stock up on everything from cereal and diapers to highlighters and Hot Wheels; even order a bouquet of flowers. Then choose a delivery day, check out using Google Payments, and wait for the doorbell to ring.

Google Express members, who pay an annual fee of $95, receive free delivery for eligible orders; for everyone else, delivery starts at $4.99 per store, each of which require a minimum sale of about $15.

"Our goal with Google Express is to offer a great shopping experience and connect people with their favorite stores," Brian Elliott, general manager of Google Express, said in a statement. "We're very excited to be further expanding our efforts—making it easy for millions [of customers] to get things they need from the stores they love—delivered fast."

Amazon, meanwhile, today announced that AmazonFresh is expanding to Chicago and Dallas following recent launches in Northern Virginia, Boston, Baltimore, and London. The e-commerce giant also delivers fruits, vegetables, meat, dairy, seafood, baked goods, beauty products, and household merchandise in Seattle, New York, Philadelphia, Stamford, Trenton, California, and more.

Folks can use AmazonFresh for $14.99 per month as a Prime membership add-on.
