Resorts online betting lounge aims to break down walls between in-person and Internet gambling

Atlantic City's oldest casino is embracing gambling's newest technology.

Resorts Casino Hotel opened an online gambling lounge Thursday aimed at breaking down the walls between in-person and Internet gambling.

Located just off the main casino floor, the lounge lets gamblers sign up for Internet gambling accounts and easily fund betting accounts. That difficulty has held back the growth of Internet gambling in New Jersey during its first year and a half.

Resorts owner Morris Bailey says it is crucial to integrate the casino's in-person customers with its Internet gambling offerings, saying the two will complement each other.

Bailey says some traditional gamblers are uneasy with online betting and the staff at the lounge will walk them through the process of wagering on their phones or tablets.
