UBS: U.S. May Delay Refunding Announcement if No Deal

The U.S. Treasury may be forced to delay its quarterly refunding announcement if no deal is reached to raise the country's debt ceiling by Aug. 2, according to analysts at UBS.

The Treasury is scheduled to announce its refunding on Aug. 3, but may need to delay this until mid-August if no deal is reached, the analysts said in a report.

UBS expects the Treasury has sufficient funds to last until at least August 8 to 10 without defaulting, if no deal is reached before then.
