Time Is Running Out For Greece: Eurogroup Head

MarketWatch Pulse

The Greek government must make more effort on talks to hammer out a reform program, Eurogroup President Jeroen Dijsselbloem said on Friday, warning that Athens and its international lenders are still far from reaching a deal. Speaking after a meeting of eurozone finance ministers in Riga, the Eurogroup head reiterated that a "comprehensive and detailed list of agreed reforms is needed" before Greece's creditors will disburse the next portion of bailout funds. "We're aware that time is running out. Too much time has been lost in the past two months, and it's therefore clear that these discussions need to make significantly more progress," Dijsselbloem said. "The responsibility for that lies mainly on the Greek authorities, [and] finding an agreement is first and foremost in Greece's interest," he added.
