Cyber Monday sales rose a relatively modest 8.5%, the first time in at least five years that sales didn't grow at a double-digit pace, according to data from IBM Digital Analytics Benchmark. The size of the average order fell 3.5% to $124.21. Mobile devices drove 41% of traffic and 22% of online sales. Five-day online sales from Thanksgiving through Cyber Monday climbed 12.6%, and Monday remained the biggest sales day of the year, IBM Digital Analytics Benchmark said. Separately, Wal-Mart Stores Inc. said Monday was the biggest day ever for online orders at Walmart.com. Online orders for same-day store pick up jumped 70% from a year earlier, Wal-Mart said.
