Don Imus joined the FOX Business Network (FBN) in September 2009 as host of Imus in the Morning (weekdays 6-9AM/ET, a nationally syndicated program that is simulcast on the channel and broadcast on the radio by Cumulus Media Networks.
The program showcases Imus' signature style through interviews and commentary on the latest business, political and popular culture news. Regular guests include Washington heavyweights and business insiders like former New York Stock Exchange Chairman, Dick Grasso, Senators Joe Lieberman and John McCain, and NJ Governor Chris Christie. FBN's Connell McShane and Dagen McDowell keep listeners up-to-date on the latest headlines and pre-market activity throughout the program.
Imus has been a fixture on the radio waves for more than four decades, starting in California in the late 1960s at KUTY-Palmdale and later landing morning programs in New York City at WNBC, CBS Radio, and WABC. His sharp humor, opinionated viewpoints and celebrity guests entertain, amuse and spark conversation. Born in Riverside, California and raised on a cattle ranch in Arizona, Imus' cowboy roots are apparent with his signature cowboy hat and unbridled manner.
He has received numerous awards and honors for his successful career in broadcasting, including an induction into the Radio Hall of Fame, and three Marconi Awards. He was also named one of the 25 Most Influential People in America by TIME Magazine.
In addition to his formidable radio career, Imus is a dedicated philanthropist. In 1999, he and his wife, Deirdre Imus, founded the Imus Ranch, a 4,000-acre cattle ranch in New Mexico that hosts children with cancer, as well as siblings of SIDS victims during the summer months. They have also raised millions for the Tomorrows Children Fund, the CJ Foundation for SIDS, American veterans, autism research and other national health concerns.
Imus has residences in New York City, Connecticut and New Mexico. He and Deirdre have a son together and Imus also has two daughters and two adopted stepdaughters from a previous marriage.
