Dell Inc. on Thursday said that despite grim trends in the personal computer market, the Texas-based company's PC business has become stronger. "Our end-user portfolio has been strengthened recently with several powerful additions, including new tablets, a convertible tablet/ultrabook, and devices with touch capability," spokesman David Frink told MarketWatch. Worldwide PC shipments plunged 14% in the first quarter, the worst decline ever for the industry, according to IDC. All major PC makers reported lower sales. Dell remained the No. 3 PC company, behind Hewlett-Packard and Lenovo. Dell shipments fell 11% year-over-year in the quarter. Shares of Dell were down a fraction at $14.14. H-P shares fell 7% to $20.76.Copyright © 2013 MarketWatch, Inc....
