Following the high-profile, $2 billion-plus sale of the Los Angeles Dodgers earlier this year, the New York Yankees are reportedly considering a sale of the famed Bronx franchise.
The New York Daily News reported on Thursday, citing an unidentified high-level baseball source, that there has been "chatter all around the banking and financial industries in the city for a couple of weeks now." The report quoted Yankees President Randy Levine as throwing cold water on the report, saying, "I can say to you there is absolutely, positively nothing to this. The Steinbrenners are not selling the team." George Steinbrenner bought the Yankees in 1973 for $8.8 million. The Dodgers, which moved to California from Brooklyn in the 1950s, were sold to a group fronted by former NBA star Earvin "Magic" Johnson for $2.18 billion last month.Copyright © 2012 MarketWatch, Inc....Apple Inc began talks earlier this year to stream films owned by EPIX, which is backed by three major movie studios, on devices including a long-anticipated TV, acco...
