Amara Mining Considering Several Joint Venture Approaches

West Africa-focused gold mining company, Amara Mining PLC (AMA.LN), has had approaches from "two or three" parties in recent weeks about the possibility of entering into a joint venture to help fill the company's $100 million funding gap on its Baomahun project in Sierra Leone, the company's chairman said Tuesday.Since flagging up its openness to such a move--either by selling a portion of its Baomahun project or bringing in a joint venture partner for the project--in its full-year results last month, Amara has had several approaches, including from the sovereign wealth fund sector, John McGloin told Dow Jones Newswires in an interview at the European Gold Forum in Zurich."It's an uncomfortable position to be in," said Mr. McGloin.
