NBC News said late Tuesday that its special correspondent and former anchor Tom Brokaw has been diagnosed with cancer, though "he and his physicians are very encouraged with the progress he is making." Doctors at the Mayo Clinic found in August that Brokaw was suffering from multiple myeloma, a cancer affecting blood cells in the bone marrow, NBC said. "With the exceptional support of my family, medical team and friends, I am very optimistic about the future and look forward to continuing my life, my work and adventures still to come," the network quoted Brokaw as saying.Copyright © 2014 MarketWatch, Inc....
