President Barack Obama was pleased with his dinner on Wednesday with a dozen Senate Republicans and said he found sincere interest among participants to end the sense of "constant crisis" over fiscal policy, White House spokesman Jay Carney said Thursday. Obama continued his outreach on Thursday by having lunch with Rep. Paul Ryan, chairman of the House Budget Committee and Rep. Chris Van Hollen, Democrat from Maryland and the ranking Democrat on the Budget panel. Ryan is getting set to unveil a plan that would balance the budget within a decade without raising taxes. Carney said the White House is not naÛve and understood a so-called "grand bargain" on the budget would be difficult. But he said Obama intended to continue to push for such a deal. "There should be the opportunity to find common ground," Carney said.Copyright © 2013 MarketWatch, Inc....
