Sen. Reed Says Unemployment Insurance Deal Reached

Sen. Jack Reed of Rhode Island said Thursday that a bipartisan deal has been reached to renew unemployment insurance benefits for five months. "We finally have a bipartisan breakthrough" to renew the lapsed benefits for the long-term unemployed, said Reed, a Democrat, on his Twitter feed. Benefits lapsed at the end of last year. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said earlier Thursday that a deal was getting close and he intended to have the Senate consider it after lawmakers return from a break next week.Copyright © 2014 MarketWatch, Inc....
