OMV: Extended Well Test Begins Production in Kurdistan

Austrian oil and gas company OMV AG (OMV.VI) Thursday said an extended well test, or EWT, started production from the Bina Bawi-3 well in the Kurdistan region of Iraq on March 20.MAIN FACTS:-The initial capacity of the EWT from Bina Bawi-3 is around 5,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day with the potential to expand beyond this level to around 10,000 boe/d, as future wells become available.-The Bina Bawi field, located east of Erbil, is operated by OMV which holds a 36% stake, 44% are held by Genel Energy PLC (GENL.LN) and further 20% by KRG.-Further, the contractor group has submitted a Declaration of Commerciality for the field to the Ministry of Natural Resources of the Kurdistan Regional Government.-Write to the Frankfurt Bureau at djnews.frankfurt@dowjones.comSubscribe to WSJ: http://online.wsj.com?mod=djnwiresCopyright © 2013 Dow Jones Newswires...
