Ayala Unit to Invest $36.4 Million in Power Plant JV

Ayala Corp. (AC.PH) said Monday its power investment arm, AC Energy Holdings Inc., will invest 1.5 billion Philippine pesos ($36.4 million) in a joint venture that will build a second 135-megaWatt coal-fired power plant in Calaca, a town just south of Manila.The facility, Calaca's second such plant, will be owned by South Luzon Thermal Energy Corp., a joint venture between AC Energy and Trans-Asia Oil & Energy Development Corp. (TA.PH).
