Anglo American Platinum Urges South Africa Workers Not to Strike

Anglo American Platinum Ltd. (AMS.JO), the world's largest platinum producer by output, tried Thursday to head off a wildcat strike at its South African mines, urging employees to avoid industrial action that could put more jobs at risk.Anglo American Platinum has heard about threats of a strike through the media but hasn't received a formal notice that workers will do so, a company spokeswoman said."Our employees should use existing channels," to communicate their complaints and concerns, the spokeswoman said.
