BlackRock CEO Fink 2012 Pay Totaled $20.2 Million - Filing

BlackRock Inc. (BLK) Chairman and Chief Executive Laurence D. Fink received $20.2 million in compensation last year, a 7.7% decrease from 2011's $21.9 million, according to a regulatory filing Friday.The compensation for Mr. Fink, head of the world's largest money-management firm by assets, included a base salary of $500,000, an $8.6 million cash bonus, and $10.9 million in stock awards, according to the firm's proxy. The bonus was up 6% from 2011.BlackRock has been a rare case in the asset-management industry, where CEO pay has been robust in recent years. Mr. Fink's pay also declined in 2011, as well as 2009 and 2008 when the financial crisis upended markets. He received $41.9 million in compensation in 2007, including $16.7 million in option rewards.Mr. Fink owns 1.68 million BlackRock shares, a 1% stake in the company, according to the filing.BlackRock on Tuesday reported a 10% increase in first-quarter profit.
