EUROPE MARKETS: Europe Stocks Slip Ahead Of U.S. Payrolls Data

European stock markets battled to end a two-day losing streak on Friday, as investors cautiously stayed on the sidelines ahead of the closely watched U.S. nonfarm-payroll report.The Stoxx Europe 600 index fell 0.2% to 291.66, after spending two days mired in the red.Shares of EasyJet PLC lost 3.8% in London, after the budget airliner said it now expects a first-half pretax loss between 60 million pounds ($91.4 million) and GBP65 million, compared with the previous guidance of a GBP50 million to GBP75 million loss.Shares of fashion retailer Next PLC gave up 2.2%, as Credit Suisse cut the firm to neutral from outperform.The FTSE 100 index traded 0.4% lower at 6,316.35.For the broader European stock markets, all eyes were fixed on the nonfarm-payroll report and unemployment rate in the U.S. to gauge the improvement in the country's labor market.Economists surveyed by MarketWatch expect to see 190,000 jobs added to the economy in March, down from 236,000 in February.
