Futures Tick Up; Fed News on Tap

FOX Business: Capitalism Lives HereU.S. stock-index futures pointed higher as traders awaited the latest clues on when the Federal Reserve could start tapering its bond-buying program. Today's MarketsAs of 8:11 a.m. ET, Dow Jones Industrial Average futures climbed 24 points to 15379, S&P 500 futures advanced 3.8 points to 1669 and Nasdaq 100 futures jumped 8 points to 3030.It's all about the Fed. The markets have surged this year -- with the Dow closing at record highs 22 times -- partially as a result of the central bank's massive quantitative easing program. Wall Street has been keeping close tabs on when the Fed may begin tapering the $85 billion a month in bonds it is buying. Two key events Wednesday are expected to shed more light on the Fed's plans. Chairman Ben Bernanke will testify before the Congressional Joint Economic Committee at 10:00 a.m. ET.
