Facebook, H-P Lead Techs Higher

Technology stocks were modestly higher Tuesday, lifted by gains in shares of Hewlett-Packard Co. and Facebook Inc. H-P gained 1% to become one of the top gainers on the Dow Jones Industrial Average which was up 46 points. The Palo Alto, Calif.-based company named executive Todd Bradley executive vice president focused on H-P's business in China. Facebook was up 1.4% in early trades. Amazon.com Inc. announced a new feature in which customers can send Amazon.com gift cards to friends on Facebook. Amazon.com shares were up a fraction.
