AirAsia X Seeks up to US$300 Million in Malaysia IPO - Term Sheet

Malaysia's long-haul budget carrier AirAsia X is seeking to raise up to US$300 million through an initial public offering in the country, a term sheet seen by Dow Jones Newswires showed Monday.AirAsia X, an associate of AirAsia Bhd. (5099.KU), is seeking to sell 790.12 million shares in the IPO and aims to list on Bursa Malaysia July 10.The planned offering by AirAsia X kickstarts the IPO momentum in Malaysia that saw deals worth about US$4 billion held back due to elections in the country earlier this month. With the ruling National Front government retaining power, investment bankers and analysts say that these IPOs are likely to hit the market this year.Companies like power firm Malakoff Corp., port and logistics company Westports Bhd. and an oil-and-gas unit of UMW Holdings Bhd. had delayed their offerings ahead of the May 5 elections.
