Fmr. Goldman Director To Report To Prison On June 17

Former Goldman Sachs Group Inc. director Rajat Gupta has agreed to report to authorities on June 17 to begin his two-year prison sentence, according to media reports. Gupta was convicted on insider trading charges for passing tips to his friend, Raj Rajaratnam, founder of hedge fund Galleon Group. Rajaratnam was convicted on insider trading charges and is currently serving 11 years in prison. The former director was hoping for a retrial on his case and had appealed, but was rejected. Gupta was ordered to pay a fine of $5 million and more than $6 million in restitution.
