Zynga Names Mattrick As CEO; Pincus Stays Chairman

Zynga Inc. said Monday afternoon that it has named Don Mattrick as CEO, replacing Mark Pincus, who will remain with the social game maker as chairman and chief product officer. Mattrick has been head of Microsoft Corp.'s Xbox videogame business since 2007. Zynga issued a statement after the closing bell, following a report earlier by the technology blog AllThingsD. Zynga said Mattrick will report directly to the board. Pincus, who founded the company, retains control over 61% of the company's voting stock. "Mark took the lead in working with the entire board to recruit Don to Zynga," venture capitalist and Zynga board member John Doerr said in a statement. "All of us at Zynga -- and no one more than Mark -- are thrilled Don is joining our mission to connect the world through games."Copyright © 2013 MarketWatch, Inc....
