PepsiCo CEO's Total 2012 Compensation Down 17%

PepsiCo Inc. (PEP) Chairman and Chief Executive Indra Nooyi received total compensation valued at $14.2 million in 2012, a nearly 17% decline from the prior year as the snack-and-drink giant phased-out option awards for its top executives in favor of a stock award tied to long-term performance.In a securities filing late Friday, PepsiCo said that Ms. Nooyi's base salary rose slightly to $1.6 million and her stock awards rose to $7.5 million in 2012, up from $6.2 million in 2011. Her performance-based bonus rose 32% to $3.3 million from $2.5 million.The main declines in her 2012 compensation package include the loss of option awards and a drop in the calculation of her pension value and other earnings. Ms. Nooyi didn't receive any option awards in 2012, compared to $3.2 million received in 2011.
