on Wednesday reported a fiscal first-quarter profit of $8.6 million, or 10 cents a share, on revenue of $1.5 billion, compared with earnings of $28.4 million, or 34 cents a share, on $1.66 billion in sales in the year-ago period. Excluding one-time items, Sanmina-SCI would have earned $22.8 million, or 28 cents a share. Analysts surveyed by FactSet Research had forecast the electronics contract manufacturer to earn 31 cents a share on $1.56 billion in revenue. For its fiscal second quarter, Sanmina forecast earnings excluding one-time items of 24 cents to 30 cents a share on revenue in a range of $1.45 billion to $1.55 billion.
