Pilgrim's Pride Shares Soar 14% On Profit Beat

Pilgrim's Pride shares jumped 14% to $5.20 Friday morning after the chicken processor reported a larger third-quarter profit than analysts had forecast. Pilgrim's earned 17 cents a share, compared with the 7 cents analysts polled by FactSet had expected. The report helped ease some concern that high feed costs will eat into the company's margin.
