Omnicom 1st-Quarter Profit Essentially Flat as Revenue Rises

Omnicom Group Inc.'s (OMC) first-quarter profit was essentially flat, creeping up 0.2% as the advertising company reported a small uptick in revenue.Omnicom, the world's second-largest advertising holding company by revenue behind WPP PLC (WPP.LN), has seen its top line grow in recent years, boosted by a string of acquisitions in digital media and emerging markets. The company, which owns the BBDO Worldwide and DDB Worldwide agencies, operates in more than 100 countries and has more than 5,000 clients.For the latest period, Omnicom reported a profit of $205.1 million, or 76 cents a share, up from $204.6 million, or 72 cents, a year earlier.
