Pershing Square Reports Increased 1st-Quarter Stakes in Burger King, Mondelez

Activist hedge fund manager William Ackman reported slightly increased stakes in Burger King Worldwide Inc. (BKW) and Mondelez International Inc. (MDLZ), while paring back stakes in Matson Inc. (MATX) and call options in Procter & Gamble Co. (PG) in the first quarter.His hedge fund, Pershing Square Capital Management L.P., disclosed in a securities filing on Wednesday that it held 38,372,120 shares of Burger King, up slightly from 38,361,360 at the end of December.Pershing Square disclosed in April that it took a new 5,978,214-share stake in Mondelez, the global snacks business that split off from Kraft Foods last year.As of the end of March, that stake had increased to 5,978,956 shares.
