    Glencore Buys Majority Stake In Mutanda For $340 Million

    Commodities titan Glencore International PLC (GLEN.

    LN) Tuesday said it has indirectly boosted its stake in Congolese copper and cobalt company Mutanda Mining Sprl, marking its first significant step toward its intended goal of merging two Congolese copper and cobalt interests.The deals come at a time when miners around the world are scouring further afield to develop new deposits to replace declining copper grades from maturing mines in politically stable locations.
