Glaxo Research Chief Looks Ahead to Next Wave of New Medicines

UPPER MERION, Pa.--Drug maker GlaxoSmithKline PLC (GSK, GSK.LN) is keeping regulators busy with six new drug applications under review but 2013 also is shaping up as a pivotal year for the next wave of medicines in Glaxo's research-and-development pipeline.Results could emerge later this year from Phase 3, or late-stage, patient studies of a cancer therapeutic vaccine and a drug for cardiovascular disease, shedding light on whether they are safe and effective enough for regulatory submission.
