slid 8% to $7.91 on Thursday following news that the Securities and Exchange Commission has launched a formal investigation into the biotech company. In a recent regulatory filing, Dendreon said that it believes the probe is related to certain shareholder suits and complaints that allege Dendreon misled investors about the commercial prospects of its lead product Provenge and the financial state of the company.
