K. medical device maker Smith & Nephew PLC (SN.LN) Thursday reported a 3% rise in first-quarter net profit and said that guidance for the full year, provided last quarter, is unchanged.Chief Executive Olivier Bohuon said: "We grew revenue, increased profit and improved our trading profit margin. We saw the first results of our actions to make Smith & Nephew more fit and effective."Net profit rose to $161 million from $156 million a year earlier. Revenue was flat at $1.08 billion, in line with expectations.
