Apache : Canada's Kitimat LNG Project First Cargo Expected In '16

Apache Corp.

's (APA) Kitimat liquefied natural-gas export project in Canada will start in 2016 and a final investment decision is still expected this year, the oil and gas producer said Tuesday.In a slide presentation posted on its website, Apache also said the project has the potential for further expansions.The project, which is expected to cost about $15 billion, was initially scheduled to start up in 2015, but the company has recently said production may begin later.Houston's Apache owns 40% of an LNG project in Kitimat, British Columbia, while Canada's Encana Corp. (ECA, ECA.T) and EOG Resources (EOG) own 30% each. The terminal is expected to be able to ship 700 million cubic feet a day.Copyright © 2012 Dow Jones Newswires...
