    GM Sees Need To Address European Car Industry Overcapacity - Report

    (GM) Vice Chairman Steve Girsky said action needs to be taken to address large overcapacity in the European car industry, according to an advance copy of an article in Die Zeit to be published Thursday.Girsky didn't comment on plans for possible plant closures, but said the turnaround plan for GM's loss-making European Opel and Vauxhall brands will be based on conservative estimates."We need to stop targeting overoptimistic goals and plan for unreachable market shares," Girsky is cited as saying.According to the report, Girsky wants the corporate culture at Opel to change.
