Nissan To Outsource New Infiniti Model To Magna

For the first time ever, Nissan Motor Co.

will outsource production of one of its Infiniti models, contracting Canada's Magna International Inc. to built a new model for the luxury brand, starting in 2014. The deal, announced separately by each company Thursday, involves Magna unit Magna Steyr building an entry-level Infiniti vehicle, probably at facilities in Austria, according to the Nikkei business daily. Magna Steyr previously has assembled German luxury cars, including those of BMW AG and Mercedes-Benz, owned by Daimler AG , the Nikkei reported.Copyright © 2012 MarketWatch, Inc....
