Fred. Olsen Energy Orders New Rig From Hyundai

Olsen Energy ASA (FOE.OS) Friday said one of its wholly owned subsidiaries has ordered a harsh environment ultra deepwater semi-submersible drilling rig from South Korean shipbuilding company Hyundai Heavy Industries Co. (009540.SE).MAIN FACTS:-The total turnkey project cost for the rig, which is scheduled for delivery in March 2015, is estimated at $700 million, including spare parts, owner-furnished equipment and yard project team.-The new drilling rig will be designed for water depths up to 10,000 feet.-The unit will be fully compliant with Norwegian Continental Shelf requirements, and is designed for year-round operations in the Norwegian Barents Sea.-Another of the company's subsidiaries has been granted an option from Hyundai for the purchase of a similar second drilling rig exercisable by October 2012, Fred.
