Personal Styler Finder founder Tyson Brazell made the case for his fashion forward startup on Risk & Reward Friday. In the “Elevator Pitch” segment, Brazell proposed his idea to FOX Business host Deirdre Bolton and judges; Techstars NYC founder David Tisch, RRE Ventures analyst Alice Lloyd George and Newscred director Amy Wu.
Brazell says his startup aims to “make hiring a fashion stylist easy and affordable.” Personal Style Finder is developing an online platform where customers can hire a personal stylist for as little as $100.
“The problem is many women shop without the requisite knowledge of color theory, fit, and style for their body type, which makes shopping incredibly wasteful,” said Brazell. “Our stylists help you reinvigorate your existing wardrobe and clarify your style so you can be judged on your own terms.”
A study from Sure Women Linen Dry finds that women spend an average of $142,000 in their lifetime on clothing and accessories. The goal of Personal Style Finder is to help people spend money on apparel that they will wind up wearing.
Personal Style Finder has raised $50,000 in angel funding so far. Brazell is hoping to raise $300,000 and will be proposing his idea to the panel of Elevator Pitch investors.
“Looking great is an important part of feeling great,” said Brazell. “Hiring a stylist is one of the most effective ways to look great on a regular basis and not a lot of people even know it is a real option for them.”
