U.S. Stocks Add To Advance; Consumer Shares Lead

NEW YORK -- U.S. stocks added to their advance Friday afternoon as investors find reason for cheer in reports from Walt Disney Co. and retailers, lifting consumer discretionary shares. The Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 102.63 points, or 1%, to 10,300.10, readying the blues chips for a 2.8% weekly gain. The S&P 500 Index rose 10.11 points, or 0.9%, to 1,097.35, readying the broad index for a 2.6% rise from last Friday's close. The Nasdaq Composite added 21.69 points, or 1%, to 2,170.71, with the technology-laden index up 2.8% for the not-yet-ended week.
