U.S. Stock Rally Takes Dow To New 2009 Highs

NEW YORK -- U.S. stocks rallied on Monday, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average hitting new highs for the year, as materials fronted the climb as the price of gold hit new heights above $1,100 an ounce. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 112.38 points to 10,135.80. The S&P 500 climbed 13.57 points to 1,082.83. The Nasdaq Composite gained 30.7 points to 2,143.13.
