SolarWorld's Third-quarter Income Fell 56%

FRANKFURT -- SolarWorld AG said Wednesday its third-quarter income after taxes from continued operations fell 56% to 16 million euros ($23.5 million) from 36.1 million euros in the same period a year ago. Revenue declined to 232.5 million euros from 238.3 million euros a year ago in the same period a year ago. Third-quarter earnings before interest and taxes (Ebit) amounted to 34.7 million euros compared with 90.8 million euros a year ago. The Ebit margin for the third quarter was 15%. SolarWorld, based in Bonn, Germany, is a company operating in the photovoltaic sector.
