Wine, Food and Travel: Matters of Taste
By Ann Hynek
FOXBusiness

A new club is launching for Bordeaux lovers. One brand goes from evening wear to t-shirts and shorts, for less. A fashion designer gets in touch with his culinary side. And a travel site will pay you to find a better deal. Really.
Welcome to OnSale at FOX Business, where we look at cool stuff and insane bargains.
Great Wine for Less
Wine.com has a new wine club aimed at connoisseurs who love their Bordeaux, but don't love paying exorbitant amount of money for it. More than 9,000 wineries produce Bordeaux, and Wine.com selected expert Anthony Foster to select the wines for its new “Club Claret.”
“Club Claret” – no membership necessary – is made up of seven core wines from boutique vineyards, ranging in price from $12.99 to $24.99. Want to learn more and impress your friends with your wine wisdom? Wine.com has a brief video on each of the “Club Claret” selections, explaining its origins and what makes it great.
Red Carpet Hits the Pavement
Coming this spring, you can wear Zac Posen in every-day settings, and for less.
Fashion designer Zac Posen is launching a more affordable sportswear line. His new business, “Z Spoke,” will offer knit separates, cotton shirts, shorts, blazers and t-shirts. The spring collection consists of 60 pieces, ranging in price from $78 for a shirt to $675 for a dress. You’ll find it exclusively at 17 Saks Fifth Avenue stores and online.
From Boutique to Kitchen
Luxury-brand designer Jay Kos, looking to the finer foods in life.
Kos launched his company 13 years ago, and started exclusively designing his own line a year and a half ago. The next step: his very own blog, describing his trips to New York City’s Greenmarket and revealing his favorite recipes using only the freshest ingredients.
“Jay
Kos is a lifestyle brand,” says Kos. “I find inspiration in color, whether it’s a gorgeous blue wallpaper or bright, fresh
vegetables. My brand is for those who enjoy the best of the best, from luxury goods to fresh, local foods.”
Kos says you will see his blog in the next two weeks. But in the meantime, his holiday favorites are in store now for all who love his finely tailored classics, and he’s also incorporating a lot of leather and suede. The new, custom Astrakhan dinner jacket has a price range of $150 - $30,000. There’s also the classic gray suede bucks and the sheared mink pea coat. You can find the Jay Kos Company Store on Manhattan’s Park Avenue between 57th and 58th Streets. Preview Jay Kos's collection here.
Out of this World
Orbitz.com (OWW) has a new Low Price Guarantee. The travel search engine is so sure it offers the best hotel rates, it’s willing to pay you if you find a lower price. If you book your hotel on the Orbitz Web site, then later find the same hotel for a lower price online, Orbitz says it will refund you the difference AND take $50 off a future booking.
The site has a similar deal for car rentals. If you book a car through Orbitz.com, then find the same reservation for less, Orbitz will refund you the difference after your trip.
Orbitz also compiled a list of the top ten busiest airports during the week of Thanksgiving. The top three: Chicago O’Hare, Los Angeles International, and Denver International. The rest of the busy airports are posted here. Avoid them if you can!
