WSJ: Pentagon May Rethink Tanker Bids
By Dunstan Prial
FOXBusiness
The Wall Street Journal reported Tuesday that the World Trade Organization’s report that Airbus received illegal subsidies from European governments provides ammunition to Boeing’s (BA) Congressional supporters who want to scuttle Airbus’ bid for a U.S. defense contract.
The WTO case isn’t conclusive, according to the WSJ, but it could influence how Congress bids the $40 billion in contracts to supply the Pentagon with tanker planes.
Congressman Norm Dicks, D-Wash., told the paper that he has pressed Pentagon officials to consider the WTO case.
